Andrew Wyeth was born on July 12, 1917 in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. He was considered one of the greatest 20th Century Artist of all times. He was a visual artist, primarily a realist painter. Wyeth often noted: "I paint my life." He painted much of his hometown landscapes as well as his surroundings in Maine, at his summer home. He is perhaps best-known for his painting Christina’s World (1948), currently in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Andrew Wyeth passed away at the age of 91 on January 16, 2009.
